The Canadiens early on established a reputation for flair, speed and offensive power. In addition to Joe Malone and Aurele Joliat, it had Howie Morenz, the most exciting player of the 1920s and 1930s.

An excellent source on the early National Hockey League, with interesting information on Morenz’ stints with the Montreal Canadiens, the Chicago Black Hawks, the New York Rangers, as well as the Ontario Hockey Association.
